Cardinal (Cardinais cardinalis). 

This little songbird's bright red plumage and stoutly crested head makes him perhaps the most easily recognizable bird in North America.  The Northern Cardinal is also one of the most popular birds in the U.S., being the official bird of seven states!  But that's not all, the Cardinal is quite the traveler, taking up residence from Hawaii to Southern Canada to Bermuda.  Their orange beak stands in contrast to its little black mask surrounding the beak and eyes.  Looking to spot some for yourself?  Never fear, they're easily lured by the promise of delicious sunflower seeds.
