Owl (order Strigiformes).

The night watcher.  Their soft hoot can be heard passing down wisdom that they have long been associated with.  Perhaps that is why the Greek goddess Athena claimed them as her chosen bird!  Quiet in flight and masters of the hunt, owls are comfortable in both woody forests and perched along side an open glen carefully detecting field mice in a scurry.
